The Shimmer Show combines the forces of two artist's passion and inspiration - Africa.
Alexandra Spyratos was born in Kenya and translating the heat and the exotic beauty of the African wildlife to canvas has become Spyratos' passion and spiritual goal and this new body of work sees a new direction into the elegance and glamour of using gold and silver leaf in her art inspired by the shine and shimmer reflective of the heat of the artist's Savannah homelands.
Virginie Truchot's bronze sculptures evoke her love of Africa and the country's earth and the dust, and of Africa's animals and people which embody the magical and mysterious spirit and energy of this continent that she has always been fascinated by and which has been a constant source of inspiration for her sculptures.
