EMMA HACK

The Cat Street Gallery is excited to announce the return of Emma Hack for a solo show ‘Chinoiserie’ running from August 25th – September 12th 2016.

Emma Hack is an Australian artist working in the unique medium of body paint installation and photography. Emma’s newest works, ‘Chinoiserie’, preview in Adelaide this SALA, prior to launching at The Cat Street Gallery, Hong Kong later in the month of August.

Chinoiserie, derived from the French word Chinois, meaning ‘Chinese’ is the European interpretation and imitation of Chinese and East Asian artistic traditions in the decorative arts.

‘Yin’ and ‘Yang’, the artist’s newest works feature the delicate positioning of her muse as porcelain busts interacting within her painterly backgrounds, exploring the intriguing beauty of her oriental neighbours.

Emma Hack has held successful solo shows throughout Australia and internationally in New York, London and in Taipei.
